Welcome to Ysabella's "Bella" Journey
A vibrant self-portrait by Bella, created in her 7th grade art class, reflecting bold creativity and a uniquely artistic voice. Inspired by her love of color and pattern, she brings her imagination to life in every detail.
Pictured above is our daughter, Bella. She has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD/ADD, and a speech/language impairment. This was her first session of IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback (MCN).
Bella initially showed signs such as inconsistent eye contact, difficulty with back and forth conversations, challenges in communication, frequent echolalia, trouble with transitions, sensitivity to sounds, hand stimming, not responding to her name, limited initiation of social interactions, solitary play, and difficulty expressing her thoughts and feelings.
Bella was evaluated through ECI and began speech therapy before she turned 2 years old, which she continues to receive to this day, both at her school and at a private clinic. She was officially diagnosed at age 2 by a child psychologist and was later evaluated by various specialists. We then started her on ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) and occupational therapy at the age of 2. Physical therapy was added at age 4, as recommended by her developmental pediatrician.
Since 2016, Bella has also been part of a research study (CM-AT) conducted by UT Health, which aims to help in autism-associated maladaptive behaviors in children. CM-AT is an enzyme preparation, sprinkled on food, that functions similarly to digestive enzymes naturally produced by the pancreas.
In 2021, when Bella was in 3rd grade, she experienced a significant challenges in school along with new behavior changes. She was re-evaluated by both her school's special education team and her neurodevelopmental psychologist. Based on their assessment, we were advised to consult a child psychiatrist and consider prescription medication to help manage her ADHD symptoms and other developmental concerns.
At the time, Bella was struggling with concentration, comprehension, anxiety, and unpredictable mood changes. While waiting for the psychiatrist appointment, we came across IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback online as an alternative treatment option and it felt like a divine intervention! We found a nearby IASIS Certified Provider, the Jordans, and were able to schedule Bella's first appointment the very next day. In our effort to help her, we purchased a discounted 10-session package to get her started. We were desperate for anything that might bring her relief. With approval from her doctors, Bella began receiving the IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback therapy twice a week, consistently. She continued the sessions until she reached a sustainable level of progress.
Bella's improvement with her communication and comprehension was very apparent not only to us but also noticed by her teachers and therapists. We cancelled the psychiatrist appointment. Since then, Bella's life skills and our lives changed for the better and we keep making more progress as time goes by with IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback by our side.
Bella is now in middle school, adjusting to a new environment with a different class structure, teachers and classmates. She continues to attend all her therapies after school and during the summer. She receives one session of IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback per week. At school, she participates in social skills class and receives additional speech therapy. Bella follows a nutrient-dense diet as prescribed by her nutritionist, which includes daily servings of pasture-raised eggs, organic Greek yogurt and avocado. She also takes digestive enzymes, prebiotic-probiotic supplement and a barley grass supplement drink daily to support her brain and gut health. She is not on any prescription medication, as it is not currently necessary.
Bella enjoys her online voice and piano lessons every week via zoom. She loves to sing and dance. She is a member of the youth choir at St. Anne Catholic Church and sings during Sunday mass. She loves to swim and had also taken swimming lessons. She is sweet, funny, happy and free spirited person. She is resilient and flexible to change. She is making a lot progress with the help of IASIS Micro Current Neurofeedback and by eating healthy.
We celebrated a major milestone last year 2025, Bella was able to have her braces placed without sedation. She followed directions, stayed calm throughout the entire process, and handled it with such maturity. She is on her way to a more beautiful and confident smile, and we couldn't be prouder of how far she's come.
I am blessed to be called Mom. Bella changed my life and taught me how to become a mother. Diagnosed at an early age, she brought with her both worries and fears about how I would raise a child with special needs. But every day, I pray for guidance and strength. I am committed to being her advocate, giving her limitless possibilities, and providing all the opportunities and support she needs to thrive, no matter the challenges we may face.
Seeing what she has become has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It is like witnessing magic unfold right before my eyes, watching her do something today that she couldn't do yesterday. It truly takes a village to raise a child with special needs and a family that never gives up. I am deeply grateful to our families, all her teachers, doctors, instructors, and therapists who have supported us over the years. Though the journey is challenging (emotionally, physically, and financially), it is also deeply fulfilling! Our family is truly blessed.

On October 31, 2025, she sat with us, listened and signed for herself. A simple signature carrying years of growth, strength, and answered prayers.

Bella's ABA therapy center is Autism House, started since she was 2 years old.
Bella began occupational therapy at the age of two and, in September 2024, she successfully met her goals and officially graduated from occupational therapy.
Bella began receiving physical therapy services at four years old and officially graduated in December 2025. On the left is Ms. Penny, who has been her therapist since the beginning, and on the right is Ms. Samantha, who has been her therapist for the past six months.

Bella has always required sedation for dental work. We celebrated a major milestone, she was able to have her braces placed without sedation, followed directions and remained calm. She's on her way to a more beautiful and perfect smile. Thanks to Dr. White and his staff.
